OZONE GENERATOR:
PRIME AIR Purifier
From: KaBen Company
Winkler, MB  R6W 4C1

Test #1…
Pre-treat home with ozone for 1 1/2 hours using power level #4 and furnace fan on continuous cycle. Suspend test strip in center of room and continue operation for 1 hour.
RESULT: Color change was minimal and estimated to be less that 10 ppb (0.01 ppm).
OBSERVATION: This is well below accepted guidelines for ozone use. The home had a pleasant, fresh, clean smell.

Test #2…
Pre-treat home with ozone for 3 hours using power level #5 and furnace fan on continuous cycle. Suspend test strip in center of room and continue operation for 3 more hours @ level #5.
RESULT: Color change identified is 40 ppb (0.04 ppm).
OBSERVATION: The range of 10-50 ppb is listed as GOOD on the Vistanomics EcoBadge card. The odor of ozone is very noticeable and higher than our  recommended  setting.

Test #3…
Pre-treat home with ozone for 3 hours using power level #7 and furnace fan on continuous cycle. Suspend test strip in center of room and continue operation for 8 more hours @ level #7.
RESULT: Color chart reading of 110 ppb (0.11 ppm).
OBSERVATION: This level is listed as moderate by Vistanomics. The OSHA limit requires that workers not be exposed to an  average concentration of more that 100ppb (0.10 ppm) for 8 hours. The odor of ozone was strong.

Conclusion:
It is determined that when the PRIME AIR  Purifier is used at the power settings recommended in the Owners Manual it will always be within the safe limits of ozone exposure. ASHRAE standards state that exposure to ozone in concentration of 50 ppb (0.05 ppm) over prolonged period of time is 100% safe.

For other factors affecting the concentration of ozone refer to the Owners Manual.
